About

Dr Yasmeen Jaina is a HCPC registered and chartered psychologist who completed her doctorate in 2019 at The University of Manchester. Since then, Dr Yasmeen has worked within the NHS, in private healthcare, as well as leading clinical research as a research associate, guiding trainee psychologists as a clinical supervisor and also worked as a consultant psychologist leading a large psychology department at a high-secure prominent psychiatric hospital in the UK.

Her professional training has allowed her to understand the human psyche from both a scientific and philosophical perspective, promoting the view of humans and their suffering, that steers away from over simplifying the human experience. Thus her clinical practice aims to honour one’s individual subjective experience and story, whilst working in an evidence based way to unearth cognitive and behavioural patterns which may have become increasingly embedded over time.

Dr Yasmeen’s experience includes providing specialist psychological assessments based upon the integration of complex psychological information from a variety of sources including neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales and semi structured interviews. All of which she will discuss throughout the therapy process ensuring the work together is transparent and collaborative.

Dr Yasmeen’s main theoretical orientations are Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), however depending on the individual goals of therapy, she also may use Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Existential psychotherapy, Narrative therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Systemic Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
